Employer Brand Audit
Where should your employer brand budget actually go? Before you decide, look at where you are now.
Emine’s Employer Brand Audit is an outside, method-led assessment of the narrative your employer brand is telling today through your words, visuals and tone of voice. It also shows how close that narrative is to the one you want to tell, and to the one your current and future people can believe.
Why do an employer brand audit before your next investment?
When you don’t know where you stand, employer brand work often starts at the wrong end: more content, a new campaign or a new career site.
The result is polished content that tells a different narrative from everyday reality.
If your employer brand sounds like ”a great atmosphere, meaningful work and excellent development opportunities”, congratulations: you have just described almost every employer on the internet.
Is your organisation going through a change?
Most organisations are and that’s when your employer brand goes out of date faster than anyone can update the career site.
Change rewrites what people believe and experience about you either way. The only question is who tells the narrarive: you, or the corridor conversations.
More content will not fix wrong employer brand perceptions. It only gives an outdated narrative a publishing schedule.
See your employer brand through fresh, expert eyes
In our Employer Brand Audit, we assess your employer brand through the Magnetic Employer Branding Method™.
We don’t comment on whether your career site looks pretty. We ask what people actually conclude from your messages, tone of voice and the visuals you use. And what’s more, whether all that matches what you want them to believe.
We also assess how well your communication speaks to your audience from the perspectives that matter to them, what your communication does at an emotional level, and whether recent change is already shaping how people see you.
This is the mirror your own team can’t hold up for itself.
Know where to start with your employer brand
The report answers three questions:
What is working now?
Where the biggest gap lies between ambition and reality?
What to focus on next?
You get prioritised recommendations, not a hundred-item to-do list.
The report tells you what is worth doing.
The report tells you what needs attention. The Roadmap workshop
In the Roadmap Workshop, you turn the findings into your own plan. We facilitate and spar with you, but you write the roadmap. That makes it your plan rather than a consultant’s, and far more likely to happen.
The workshop is where you decide together what you will actually do.
What you get:
- 1. Desired perceptions vs. actual impression. What should people believe about you as an employer, and what do they actually conclude?
- 2. Does your communication matter to your target audience? Do your messages and content speak about your audience? Or mainly about your company?
- 3. Emotional influence. What perceptions, thoughts and beliefs does your communication build? Do they move people to engage, commit, recommend and choose you for the right reasons?
- 4. The footprint of change. Does your employer brand still describe the company you were before the strategy update, the merger, the reorganisation or the AI shift? And what has the silence after change been saying on your behalf?
- 5. Consistency. Do your career site, job ads, social media and wider online presence tell the same story as your everyday reality (based on the intake survey)?
- 6. Distinctiveness. How do you look side by side with the one or two employers competing for the same talent?

FAQ
1. Where should we start with employer branding?
With where you are now. Before you invest in career sites, content or campaigns, it pays to know what impression you give today and how it differs from what you want. The Employer Brand Audit gives you that picture in three weeks and tells you which three things to do first.
2. What does the Employer Brand Audit include?
An intake survey and an assessment of your career site, job ads, social media and wider online presence based on what pops up. And, a comparison with one or two competing employers. All concluded into a report that ends in prioritised recommendations. We walk through the report together.
3. How is this different from a typical audit?
Unlike standard audits, this one is built on our story-driven employer branding methodology. You'll get a narrative-based diagnosis that helps you understand what’s holding your brand back and how to fix it in a way that actually connects with your target talent.
4. Who is it for?
HR, communications and marketing leaders, and leadership teams who are planning next year's employer brand investments, or whose employer brand feels unclear, fragmented or out of date.
5. We are in the middle of change. Should we do the audit now or later?
Often right now. During change, people's beliefs about a company form fastest, shaped either by the story you tell or by its absence. The audit shows what change has already done to your employer brand and what is worth saying next.
6. How much does this take our time?
About 15-30 minutes for the intake survey and an hour for going through the report. The report is ready within three weeks of the survey. Sometimes we book an extra call after the intake survey to clarify some of your responses.
7. Who should join the Roadmap Workshop?
The people responsible for employer branding, communications and recruitment, and ideally someone from the leadership team. A roadmap is most likely to happen when it is built by the people who also decide on resources.
The Employer Brand Audit is an expert service from Emine, a Finnish employer branding agency, that shows organisations where to start with employer branding. The audit assesses the current state of an organisation’s employer brand using the Magnetic Employer Branding Method™, comparing desired employer brand perceptions with the impression actually created by career sites, job ads, social media and wider online presence. It pays particular attention to how ongoing or recent organisational change shows up in current perceptions, and assesses the emotional influence, consistency and distinctiveness of communication. The report is delivered in about three weeks and helps prioritise employer brand investments. In a facilitated Roadmap Workshop, the organisation builds its own development plan from the findings. Pricing: Employer Brand Audit €4,800; full package with Roadmap Workshop €6,300 (excl. VAT). Campaign price for the full package €6000 (excl. VAT) valid until 15.12.2026.
